Hi, we haven't written for a while as we have been busy with our Bedale High School Prom Fashion Show. We had 15 models and over 80 dresses in the show. The night went really well and if you get a chance have a look at our photos of the night (follow the link on the homepage). Here is a quick sneak preview !

The girls looked fantastic, and had their hair styled by a local hairdressers, The Salon. We pulled in 6 boys to help with the show and they were superb. So here is a picture for the boys !!



And for all you Year 10 girls out there in Bedale High School - start thinking about next year's prom show. We will be recruiting models earlier next year.

PROM SHOW

Interested in our 2008 Prom Dresses ? Then why not come and see us at our Prom Show at Bedale High School on 14 March.

Well, we are now well into Prom season and have had a very busy half term week with girls coming to the store to choose their prom gowns. Both long and short dresses are proving popular. We are really excited as we have just received our stock of dresses from an Amercian manufacturer, and the dresses are gorgeous.

We have also taken on another Amercian supplier and their dresses are due in next week. So there will be even more choice, colour and beautiful dresses in our store.

We have also sent some of our dresses to ITV's "This Morning" show. They are doing an Oscar's preview and will be featuring some of our dresses on the show on Monday morning (25 Feb 08). If you catch the show, let us know what you think of our dresses.

The Prom Collection

Well, the new prom collection has been in store for 2/3 weeks now and the reaction to the dresses is superb. There are lots of wows when people walk into the store and see the colours and choice of styles available.

We have had a busy week working with our model, Serena Moxham, who has been doing a photo-shoot for us and here are some of her pictures. We think she looks fabulous and brings the dresses to life!

The dresses, both long and short, are proving to be very popular with a few styles now sold out with further stock arriving late March. Remember we won't sell the same dress to anyone going to the same prom as you but do get your order in early so as not to be disappointed.

Which Style?

Prom Dresses at Minx are available in a multitude of styles and colours. We love the emerald greens, midnight blues, fuchsia's this year.

The biggest decision for prom girls is whether to go for long or short. A lot of the shorter styles, knee to calf length, have a retro 1950's style to them like this one shown on the right.

However many prefer the longer and fuller styles, they are what most of us think of when we think of the typical US High School Prom and lets face it, this will be the ideal time to wear one of these fantastic dresses.


Both styles are fantastic, but the thing to remember when you come into the shop is to be open minded. Some people have a fixed idea what they are looking for but once they try a few different styles and colours they almost always leave with something different!

So do let us know, which style do you prefer? long or short and why.

2008 Prom Collection

As you can see from the site we have put up the new 2008 collection, in addition we have included a made to order option. We are excited by the US collection in the made to order section and wondered what you guys thought? The gowns have a classic 'US High School' feel to them and come in some striking colours.
